Happy Valentines Day lovers! The beautiful model Gisele Bundchen tweeted -"
Happy Valentine’s day to all! Let’s spread love."
Even sexy stars will enjoy a little chocolate this Valentines Day. This is delicious chocolate mouse recipe by Food Network's Chef Emeril Lagasse.
This dessert is healthier than most chocolate recipes because it's flour-less and made with egg whites. I substituted Stevia in place of sugar. You will even find a powdered Stevia that you can sprinkle on top of the souffle.
To make this recipe even healthier I used 60% Dark Bittersweet chocolate which has less sugar than semi-sweet chocolate. When baking this dessert use, four, 6 ounce ramekins. I baked the souffles in 4 large ramekins, so the mixture did not rise above, but I just had to use these cute heart ramekins I bought from Crate & Barrel for Valentines Day! Love always, enjoy!
Ingredients:
• 2 teaspoons of Butter, room temperature• 2 Cups of Sugar• 8 Oz. Semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped• 4 Large Egg whites• 3 Large Egg yolks• 1/4 Grand Marnier
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Butter 4 individual ramekins. Sprinkle each ramekins with 1 teaspoon sugar. In a large metal bowl, set over a pot of simmering water, melt the chocolate, whisking it occasionally. Remove the bowl from heat.
In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg whites with 1/4 cup of sugar until stiff and glossy. Whisk the egg yolks in to the chocolate one at a time, add the Grand Marnier, and whisk in the remaining sugar.
Fold in the egg whites and blend until smooth. Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared ramekins.
Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake until they are puffed and somewhat firm, about 20 to 25 minutes.
Remove from the oven and serve with chocolate sauce and powdered sugar sprinkled on top.
